It has been a very busy summer. My family is very active in Relay-for-Life activities. We became involved the year after my husband, Laurence, passed away. We had our annual walk for life on July 11th. It is a very interesting time, people sharing their stories of their walk with cancer.
I have wonderful neighbors at the resort across the road from me. They had a nephew that was born on October 1, 2008. He was a very normal looking baby. His name is Hudson. Shortly after he came home he became very fussy. They took him to the doctor only to find out that he had a brain tumor. They gave the parents a choice of whether they wanted to pursue treatments because his tumor was growing. They were told that he probably got cancer in the 7th month of pregnancy. They didn’t give the parents a lot of hope.

The parents wanted to try whatever they could do. At 4 months old this baby was receiving chemo. Hudson had many surgeries and they couldn’t get the whole tumor but they took what they could each time. His prognosis was not good. Last summer when they were here, he was just a baby you could hold and he was always smiling and such a good baby. This summer they returned for vacation and he is doing wonderful. For the 1st time the Doctors have told the parents that the tumor is shrinking. He is sitting in a little walker and moves around the room and has a perpetual smile. He can’t walk or talk but he has come a long way. When I went up to him he waved and smiled and he truly stole my heart. He can throw a ball and we chase it down and he is doing well
.
I give them parents a lot of credit for the decisions that they made. It has not been easy but they chose life and they thank God everyday for the gift they received.
It’s hard to believe that some people can choose to end life with an abortion. We must be vigilant in fighting for life. We don’t want anything to do

It’s hard to believe that some people can choose to end life with an abortion. We must be vigilant in fighting for life. We don’t want anything to do
with laws that force us to pay for abortions, or laws that make abortion legal. We do not have the right to kill at any stage in life. Let us all pray for an end to abortion.
PRAYER TO END ABORTION
LORD GOD, I THANK YOU TODAY FOR THE GIFT OF MY LIFE, AND FOR THE LIVES OF ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS. I KNOW THERE IS NOTHING THAT DESTROYS MORE LIFE THAN ABORTION. TODAY I COMMIT MYSELF NEVER TO BE SILENT, NEVER TO BE PASSIVE, NEVER TO BE FORGETFUL OF THE UNBORN. I COMMIT MYSELF TO BE ACTIVE IN THE PRO-LIFE MOVEMENT, AND NEVER TO STOP DEFENDING LIFE UNTIL ALL MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS ARE PROTECTED AND OUR NATION ONCE AGAIN BECOMES A NATION WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE NOT JUST FOR SOME, BUT FOR ALL, THROUGH CHRIST OUR LORD. AMEN!
The Priests for Life provided this Prayer.
As mothers and grandmothers we need to let our children and grandchildren know the way we feel. We are all called to serve. Let us try to save a life. Prayer is the most powerful defense we have.
May God bless all of you?
