The Foley/Princeton CCW Deanery held their annual Day of Reflection on May 22, 2010 at St Mary’s Church in Milaca. It was a very Spirit filled day with confessions and a beautiful Mass celebrated by Father Al Stangl.
Father Stangl also gave an inspiring talk on “The Eucharist-our greatest gift”. He connected the sacrifices of the Old Testament with the passion and death of Jesus in the New Testament; how today we become a part of each Mass during the breaking of the bread, Jesus’ sacrifice for us.
We also prayed the rosary and had Eucharistic Adoration. Father James Remmerswall, OSC, closed Eucharistic Adoration with Benediction. We cannot forget the delicious lunch provided by St. Mary’s women, or the rhubarb pies brought by Father Al; pies made from his own rhubarb. Thank you, Father Al; the pies were delicious.
Barb Jacobsen, our Vice-President, and I attended the Province Conference in Alexandria. The main speaker, Dr Edward Sri, unfolded a completely new way of thinking about and praying the Rosary. I went home excited about explaining the rosary and praying the rosary with others. It was a great conference that enriched the lives of all who attended.
We are getting word out to our Parishes and leaders of the upcoming Saturday, August 7th NCCW Leadership training in Brainerd. We are hopeful of having a good participation within our deanery.
Our “Brats and Pop” fundraiser is on Saturday, August 28th at Coborns in Foley from 11:00am to 5:00pm. We invite you to come and taste a bratwurst made by the hard working women of our deanery.
