The Little Falls Deanery had a busy and successful year. Most recently, we have been very busy with parish festivals and bazaars. There are several to choose from almost every weekend. St. James in Randall is holding their August Fest bazaar on August 8, and so we are praying for good weather.
Our deanery fundraiser, a brat and burger cookout at Coborn’s in Little Falls, was held the first week in August and was a great success. St. James - Randall, St. Joseph - Pierz, St. John’s - Lastrup, Our Lady of Lourdes - Little Falls, St. Mary’s - Little Falls, and Holy Cross - North Prairie all pitched in to take their turn selling grilled burgers and brats.
We had a good turnout for the Province Conference in Alexandria June 24-25. Everyone from our group in Little Falls who attended agreed that it was one of the best. It’s just too bad that more young women weren’t in attendance. The speakers were excellent and gave us much food for thought. The meal was delicious and the entertainment was delightful, providing many laughs and much fun.
Our co-moderator, Father Al Quade, has been transferred from St. Otto’s Nursing Home in Little Falls to Amazing Days Elderly Care Center in Randall. I’m sure he would appreciate a card or a call or a visit. The address is Amazing Days; 7807 Emerald Road; Randall, MN 56475.
Our Fall Deanery gathering is scheduled to be at St. John’s in Lastrup, with a date yet to be determined.
