Thank you to Melrose/SaukCentre Deanery President, Jean Hopfer.The Melrose/Sauk Centre Deanery hosted a church tour yesterday, August
10th. This was excellently planned by Jean Hopfer, our president. She
put much time and effort into the smooth, informative and comfortable
execution of this tour. Eight of the old churches were toured with
someone at each church to answer, point to any item of interest and give
facts and figures of each building.
The day began with the rosary, rolls, juice and coffee at St. Mary's in
Melrose. Thank you, Melrose ladies. After touring half the churches,
we stopped at the Greenwald Pub and were served a wonderful, reasonably
priced lunch. Then continued on the tour.
The Council of Catholic Women offers just such learning opportunities
in many forms. Our churches are a treasure for us Catholics and this
tour and Jean's planning were a gift to be remembered by all who
participated. Thank you, Jean.

I would like to thank the St. Cloud Diocesan Council of Catholic Women for the generous gift of $343.00 from their Spring gathering. We have used the donation to 40 Days for Life to purchase 100 PRAY TO END ABORTION yard signs which we will put to good use during our next 40 Days for Life Campaign which will begin on September 22, 2010 and end on October 31, 2010. We were so encouraged with the support your group has passed on to us. 40 Days for Life has been received in our Diocese as a viable way to "Stand Up for Life"; and your gift has been an affirmation of our Catholic way of Life. May God bless you richly; may His grace continue give you the strength and courage to continue His call to action
